Dublin Edition

A recent trip to Dublin sparked the inspiration for this post. Dublin restaurants and food choices are plenty and the traditional fare is only a tiny part of it. Healthy restaurants are popping up everywhere and it was a joy to see and, of course, to taste!

I made a list of the restaurants and dishes that I ate in Dublin. For anyone living or traveling to Dublin, I suggest trying these restaurants out!

Staples Food: I loved this restaurant! It had vegan options, as well as options more suited for carnivores. Every dish was full, if not mostly made of vegetables. This meal was made even more special because I went with my dear friend who I only get to see lately when I travel to Dublin.

What we ate: A salad large salad with falalefs on top. We ordered a side of zucchini noodles with lemon as a side.
It was Delish!

Brother Hubbard: I passed by this place, while shopping and I knew by the signage that I had to go in (I have a 6th sense for these things). I was very happy with this decision and when I later reviewed the list that an insta friend gave me of restaurants to try, I was happy to see it was also on the list. They have good quality and interesting sandwiches, salads and soups. They also include where they source their goods ( i.e. various bakeries and farms). They also have a dessert bar filled with lot’s of vegan and gluten-free dessert options. This is a great place to go for a quick and easy lunch.

What I ate: I ordered a sweet potato soup and a side of cabbage coleslaw with a lemon-yogurt dressing. I also got an almond, orange muffin made with almond flour.

The Blazing Salads: The blazing salads had an extremely comforting vibe to me, very mellow and low key and full of simple, nourishing and hearty foods. It is a deli-style with limited seating, but you can take food away. The menu is varied but all vegetarian with a lot of macrobiotic inspired food, vegan and gluten-free options. I came here in passing, when I was not really hungry, so unfortunately I did not eat a lot. However, they do have a website and a lovely looking book if you are so inclined.

What I ate: I got a rice ball, wrapped in nori and filled with shitake mushrooms and carrots.

The Rustic Stone: This restaurant is a known healthy food haven in Dublin. It is higher end and a really great place for a nicer dinner. The menu is quite extensive with a lot of choice. Nutritional commentary is posted under some of the more health inspired dishes, which makes you just feel good about what you are eating.

What I ate: I chose from their many salad options and got the Boisterous Beetroot Salad with fennel, lettuce, avocado, radicchio, pink grapefruit, pink radish, dill, beetroot and pine nuts.

Cornucopia: I have come to this restaurant every time I visit Dublin. It is kind of an establishment around since the mid 80’s. They offer hot meals, as well as salads. They have really good vegan, vegetarian and raw desserts. They also host workshops and educational events and every time I am there they have an awesome looking workshop lineup.

What we ate: The most recent time I was here I got a salad with cucumber and daikon. It was very light and refreshing. My boyfriend and I then split an apple bar ( gf/vegan) and I had an almond milk latte.

There you have my Dublin eats. The next time you are Out&About in Dublin, I highly recommend trying these places out.

ENJOY!

P.S. A special thanks to my Instagram pal for the great suggestions. She told me to try all of these places. Some of them I specifically went to, while others I coincidentally stumbled upon because, you know, great minds think alike!
